Melron Kelly – Speaker

Deputy Chief Melron Kelly is a native of Columbia, South Carolina. He received a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from South Carolina State University and a Master’s Degree in Justice Administration from the University of Louisville. Deputy Chief Kelly is a 22-year veteran and second in command at the Columbia Police Department (CPD) where he oversees all Departmental Operation.

Kelly is a member of various state, community and social organizations including, the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s (FBI) National Academy | Class 270, The Southern Police Institute, Heroes in Blue, Sowing Seeds, The Columbia Community Relations Council, Omega Psi Phi Fraternity and the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives among other affiliations.
